Born and raised in Los Angeles, DJ Spider has worked tirelessly at developing his craft since he bought his first set of turntables in 1996. DJ Spider's introduction into the mainstream, however, came when he won the Next on the Decks contest presented by BPM Magazine in June of 2006. Although Spider had already cemented his reputation throughout the L.A. club scene, the contest propelled him to national notoriety. As the winner of the contest, Spider was given the opportunity to tour the US with Mark Ronson, and perform with DJ AM at Mansion in Miami suring Winter Music Conference. Recently, Spider was asked to be on the cover of BPM Magazine along with other top LA djs DJ AM, Steve Aoki, Peanut Butter Wolf, DJ Fashen, Marshall Barnes and Pase Rock. Spider has also done official remixes for Usher, Lil Mama ft. T-Pain & Chris Brown, Ciara ft T-Pain, Michelle Williams (Destiny’s Child), Patty Labelle & Wyclef, along with his own remixes and original work that are played by other DJs worldwide. He has also recently teamed up with super producer and artist Lil Jon to do 2 mix cds called Rock Box Vol 1 and 2.
